Best of the Rockies Hiking Tours
Esplanade
Track: Hut-to-hut hiking vacation on one of the World's
best ridge walks! Linking alpine cirques, lakes and meadows,
this trip follows the skyline of one of British Columbia's most beautiful ranges. Running parallel to the Canadian Rockies, the
trail offers exceptional panoramic views of the Rockies' most famous peaks:
Mt. Robson, Mt. Columbia and Mt. Assiniboine.
Access is exclusively by helicopter, which allows for a truly remote setting. With less people on the trails, you will have ample opportunities for wildlife viewing and if you are very lucky, may even catch a glimpse of one of the area's Grizzly Bears!

Best Rockies Backpacking Trips
Banff
Highline Backpacking: This trip is one of the most famous
backpacks in Banff National Park! We take you on a wonderful
journey through the peaks and meadows, alpine lakes and streams that
make up the core beauty and representative wilderness of these
mountains. There is nothing to match the sense of accomplishment
at being able to carry on your back everything you need to enjoy
the wilderness. Meeting and sharing the adventure with other
active and interesting individuals is also a key part of the
experience. Craggy peaks layered in multi-hued quartzite
give way to the massive gun-metal grey limestone slabs typical of
the Front Ranges.

Highline: Every year Yamnuska's director, David Begg,
chooses a remote wilderness destination to explore.
Unsupported and travelling into challenging terrain with full
backpacks makes these trips both physically demanding and "once in
a lifetime" memorable! For 2010 we will be trekking into the
stunning backcountry surrounding Highwood Pass in Southern
Alberta's famous Kananaskis Country.
This trip encompasses all of the components of a true wilderness adventure: remote backcountry, off-trail travel, little to no other human contact, and abundant wildlife!
